ePattern & eBook Services
|
| ePatterns are becoming very popular among decorative painters. They are fast, easy, and less expensive than traditional pattern packets. But many designers are unsure about how to set them up on their own.
That's where I can help you. I'll put the pattern together for you and send you the finished pdf file that you can email to your customer when you receive an order. The pdf file will contain your project photo, instructions, and line drawing, along with anything else you want to include.
Common Questions:
|
What do I need to provide to you for my ePattern?
- Digital files in jpg or tiff format for each colored or black & white image you wish to appear in the ePacket. This includes photo of finished piece, any step-by-step worksheets, line drawing, etc. If you don't have these files or don't know how to scan them yourself, you can mail photos, actual worksheets, and line drawings to me and I can prepare them for you.
- Instructions typed in a Word document (.doc extension) which you are responsible for proofreading. Alternatively, I can type the instructions for you, but you will need to proofread them. Instructions would include title of packet, any item # you designate, supply list (paints, brushes, special supplies), general instructions covering preparation and special techniques, step-by-step instructions for painting the design, your contact information, etc.

What if I want to put the patterns in one of my out-of-print books into eformat?
If you have rights to reproduce one of your books that is out of print, you can have me put it together in multiple e-Patterns (usually it's best to do an ePattern for each colored page of projects. You would need to provide me with an original copy of your book, so I can scan the colored images and line drawings.
If you want to put an entire book into eBook format, it would be best to sell it as a CD, since the size would become difficult to transmit by email.
|
| What do I get back?
ePattern pdf file. I prepare the pdf file in regular letter size format that can easily be printed by your customer. The pdf file can be emailed to you, downloaded from the web, or I can send it to you on a cd. You can copy the pdf file as many times as needed to sell to your customers.
What is pdf format?
A pdf file can be opened by anyone with Adobe Acrobat Reader on their computer and will retain it's original appearance including layout and fonts. Adobe Acrobat Reader is a free program which can be downloaded at www.adobe.com.
I can also copy the pdf file to finished cds for you to sell with a printed color label matching the design or book.
